It was hard to tell that Leafbare had finally come to an end. The chill in the air was bone deep, crisp and chilly to even those with fur. Bare branches could just be seen over the horizon of RiverClan territory, their once lively green shade having yet to return. Even the orange glow of the rising sun added only to the benefit of the cold.
A black tom stood overlooking the river ahead, his dark gaze sharp. He had gotten ahead of the rest of the RiverClan patrol, and had braked here to wait. The warrior sat up strait and tall and slowly shuffled his paws against the cold and frosted grass, twitching his whiskers impatiently before turning his head to search for his clanmates. Darkflame was eager to get on with this. He hated the cold, even more than the blistering days of Greenleaf. This was a boring patrol to top it.
Plus he was hungry. As his stomach growled once again, the black warrior sighed with irritation. What I wouldn't do for a rabbit right now. Or even a mouse. Anything was better than this. Darkflame got back up to his paws and took a few steps forward toward the ThunderClan border, gingerly sniffing the air. He was on border patrol, but maybe he could still find something to bring back for the clan...

OOC: Thunderstorm is in Thunderclan doing a patrol lol
Thunderstorm sighed and padded along with the rest of her patrol. Life was boring now adays. Even more boring that it was leafbare. She continued to follow. Not to long and she smelt the Riverclan territory comming up. She sighed and looked around. Thunderstorm stopped and her fur bristled. Riverclan sent was strong now. Her fur still ruffled she walked through the rest of her partol. They didn't do anything and started to walk away. She just sat down by a tree, feeling the sting of the cold air through her fur. Her ears swifled as her last clan mate walked through the brush. She scanned the area till she saw a cat at the border, sniffing the air. She bounced up and hissed, "Shouldn't you be with your clan!?" Her eyes softened as he looked hungry. Thunderclan didn't have it too bad because the prey was starting to come out. But it was worse for Riverclan because their river is part frozen

Darkflame saw the ThunderClan cats approaching just a heartbeat before the first cat spoke. He sighed loudly with exasperation, but he was actually glad to have some relief from the otherwise dull day. As Thunderstorm spoke he twitched his whiskers and narrowed his eyes..
"Shouldn't you be in your own territory?" The RiverClan warrior retorted with a flick of his tail. He stood up straight and tall, trying to look as professional as possible. "My clan doesn't appreciate having ThunderClan cats so close to the border. So why don't you just move on."

(Hope you don't mind me joining? I want to get Icestar's activity up and going.)
The white leader was padding along the borders hunting. She scented squirrel and dropped into a crouch, seeing the brown creature just ahead nibbling on a nut. She got within a good distance and exploded from cover, pinning the squirrel and killing it quickly and mercifully. "Thank you StarClan for feeding my clan." she muttered her thanks to the warrior ancestors that watched over them and buried her prey to collect it later. She was progressing well, having caught a mouse and a water vole, when she spotted Darkflame of RiverClan and Thunderstorm of ThunderClan quarreling. She saw pelts bristling and rushed over to see what was going on. She came up behind Thunderstorm and flicked her tail to silence the RiverClan warrior. "What seems to be the problem?" she asked, her voice soft but giving nothing away.

(OOC: Hope you don't mind me dropping in too)
Poppypaw had been trudging along with her mentor and the rest of the patrol when the scent of Riverclan cats near by caught her attention. She followed Thunderstrom through the brush to see the black Riverclan tom near the border. What's he doing there? She thought. Her fur bristled. She came to a hault just as her mentor called to the Riverclan warrior.
"Shouldn't you be with your clan!?"
"Shouldn't you be in your own territory? My clan doesn't appreciate having ThunderClan cats so close to the border. So why don't you just move on."
No cat talks to a Thunderclan warrior like that! Poppypaw thought, anger flaring. "We are in our own territory, fleabag!" She hissed, green eyes narrowed in a glare. She was about to growl something else when Icestar came into view.
"What seems to be the problem?"
She wanted to say,'This flea-bitten Riverclanner here is too close to Thunderclan territory', but she thought better of it. She held her tongue and waited for her mentor or another warrior in the patrol to respond.

Darkflame glanced casually over his shoulder as his own patrol caught up. He opened his mouth, ready to give the ThunderClan cats another warning when he saw the new cat approach. His yellow gaze flickered over to the ThunderClan leader, and he narrowed his eyes in contemplation. Oh great. The calvary is here. The tom thought sarcastically, shifting into a sitting position.
Darkflame gave his tail a slight twitch. "Oh there's no problem." He shot Thunderstorm a sharp glance. "Assuming that your patrol is planning to get away from our territory, that is."
